Ruralco Foundation launches opening event in Gunnedah

Recently, The Ruralco Foundation soft launched its inaugural event at St Xavier’s School in the heart of Gunnedah to raise money for mental health through Lifeline.

CRT member, Gordon Barry & Co played host to an evening of entertainment that featured The Unbreakable Farmer, Warren Davies, who spoke to a crowd of about 100 on his experiences with mental illness.

The event also featured an acoustic performance from local performer Dean Whitton, and included a stunning food platter table which had to be seen to be believed.

Gordon Barry & Co’s Rebecca Tunbridge said the night “was fantastic.”

“Warren spoke about his own journey with mental health and how he overcame those challenges, and he spoke about the influence he’s had on other people’s mental health,” Rebecca said.

“We’ve had a lot of good feedback and conversations about the night.”

Gunnedah’s local paper, The Namoi Valley Independent, also covered the event. You can read their article – which comes with a photo slideshow – here.

A big thank you to Rebecca Tunbridge, the Gordon Barry & Co team and everyone who helped make this special event possible.
